Lakers complete sweep in semis over BLC

Joe Resetarits played the role of facilitator and Rob Hellyer pulled the trigger as the Peterborough Lakers handed Brooklin Lacrosse Club a 13-9 defeat at the PMC Thursday.

The Lakers sweep the best-of-seven MSL semifinal 4-0 and punch a ticket to the championship series against the Six Nations Chiefs.

Resetarits had one goal and five assists on the night, while Hellyer had a hat trick and one helper.

There wasn't a lack of goals in the first period. Hellyer scored twice, while Resetarits, Adam Thistlewaite, Colton Armstrong, Thomas Hoggarth, and Austin Hasen added singles. Dawson Theede scored three times for BLC, while Sean Westley and Reilly O'Connor netted one each.

Westley added a pair of goals in the second period, with Adam Perroni netting one.

The Lakers sealed the deal in the third period with goals from Hellyer, Taite Cattoni, Matt Gilray and Joey Cupido. O'Connor netted the lone BLC response.
