Big run leads Owen Sound over Rock

Owen Sound Lacrosse showed a ton of resilience Tuesday night at the MSL Classic at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre.

After spotting the Oakville Rock four early goals, Owen Sound wasn’t fazed, going on a 11-goal run to beat their hosts 14-17.

Dan Lintner, Alec Tamas, Brandon SLade and Sam English got the Rock off to a hot start that stretched into the second quarter. But then Owen Sound shook the cobwebs and went on a run that the Rock couldn’t recover from.

Keagan White led the second quarter rally with two goals, while Parker Campbell, Tyler Halls, Mike Fiegehen, Carter Zavitz and Kyle Dawson added to the lead.

White struck two more times in the third quarter, while John St. John and Fiegehen scored one each. Zack Kearney stopped the bleeding, responding late for the Rock.

Although Ryan Lanchbury and Alex Kew tried to inch the Rock closer, Dawson netted a pair of fourth-quarter goals, while St. John added his second of the game to put an exclamation mark on the victory.

The win gives Owen Sound a 2-3 record, while the Rock drop to 2-4. Owen Sound plays the Six Nations Chiefs Wednesday, while the Rock takes on the Coburg Kodiaks on Thursday. Both games are at 8pm. You can reserve your tickets by CLICKING HERE. The game will also be on JVI Sports Network.
