The Brooklin Lacrosse Club showed that it’s all about how you finish.

Austin Murphy’s goal with just under four minutes to go in regulation was the only lead BLC needed to secure a 6-5 win over Owen Sound Wednesday at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre.

And with a game to go, the win gives BLC a 6-1 record, and secures top spot at the MSL Classic.

It was all Owen Sound in the first quarter, with Rob Hudson scoring twice and Tyler Halls adding one. Justin Robinson was the lone BLC response.

Owen Sound started the second-quarter scoring thanks to Keegan White and finished it thanks to Josh Medeiros. Sandwiched in between were goals from Connor Kearnan and Ryan Macspadyen, making it a two-goal advantage for Owen Sound heading into the third quarter.

Dan Michel scored a power-play goal early in the third quarter, before Jeff Wittig tied things up with seven minutes to go in the frame, setting up Murphy’s winner.

The loss gives Owen Sound 3-5 record at the MSL Classic. BLC takes on the Oakville Rock at 8pm Thursday to close out the five-week event. Tickets are still available by CLICKING HERE. You can also watch the game online on JVI Sports Network.
