Brooklin continues to rip it up at MSL Classic

The Brooklin Lacrosse Club continues to impress at the MSL Classic.

On Tuesday at the Toronto Rock Athletic Center BLC revealed significant scoring prowess in a 19-10 win over Owen Sound.

Three players scored four times each to lead Brooklin. However, veteran Ryan Keenan led all point getters scoring once and collecting nine assists for a 10-point effort.

Chris Boushey opened the scoring just before the three minute mark with an outside shot that eluded Owen Sound goaltender Nolan Clayton. Boushey had a spectacular game scoring four times and adding four assists.

Rookie Jonathan Donville showed why he was worthy of being the first overall pick in the 2020 MSL Entry Draft, scoring four goals along with three assists.

Dan Michel also netted four goals and added a single assist, while Connor Kearnan scored three times and collected two assists. Jake Fox had two goals and two assists.

Jake McNabb was the lone Owen Sound player to score more than once as he notched two goals and a single assist.

The game was close until the fourth quarter. BLC led 8-7 at halftime. Brooklin increased their lead to two goals leading 12-10 at the end of the third quarter, before pulling away in the final quarter outscoring Owen Sound 7-0.

In his first start in MSL, goaltender Nick Damude notched the win in nets for BLC.  Nolan Clayton took the loss for Owen Sound.

With the win, Brooklin remains undefeated climbing to a record of 3-0. Owen Sound falls to 0-3.

Next up at the MSL Classic is a tilt between Owen Sound and the Six Nations Chiefs on Wednesday at 8pm. Thursday, the Cobourg Kodiaks play the Oakville Rock, also at 8pm.
