Chiefs bounce back in a big way over Excelsiors

The Six Nations Chiefs roared back in a big way after giving up two goal in the first period to defeat the Brampton Excelsiors 11-4 Tuesday during Major Series Lacrosse action.
The Excelsiors opened up the scoring when Jonathan Gagliardi converted a Lucas Ferreira feed at 5:58, followed by Steven Portelli finishing off a Henry Follows pass at 14:51.
The Chiefs got on the board in the second period, when Cody Jamieson blasted a Randy Staats pass in at 2:11, followed by Liam LeClair going coast to coast in transition beating Lucas Nagy 35 seconds later to tie the game. Charlie Scanlon gave the Chiefs their first lead of the night, firing a laser to the far corner off an Austin Staats feed at 5:45. The Chiefs built on their lead with Lyle Thompson throwing a long lead pass to Austin Staats at the side of the net. Then Austin Staats fed his brother Randy across the crease who quick sticked it in at 12:08.
The Excelsiors finally answered when Pent Eistrat finished a Lucas Ferreira pass at 13:10. But Thompson regained the two-goal Chiefs lead converting a Randy Staats pass 46 seconds later.
Jamieson scored his second of the period just 10 seconds after serving a penalty. Collecting his own rebound Jamieson beat Nagy from point blank range at 16:27. Austin Staats continued the attack converting a Thompson pass at 17:29.
Wes Whitlow scored blasting a rebound off a David Brock shot past Nagy at 5:17. The Excelsiors answered with Lucas Ferriera converting a Pent Eistrat feed at 6:17.
Thompson increased the Chiefs lead with a howitzer off an Austin Staats pass at 9:55, followed by Shayne Jackson scoring off a Whitlow feed at 10:56. Randy Staats continued the onslaught firing a laser from the outside off a Bryan Cole feed at 11:23.
