Chiefs even series in OT


Cody Jamieson showed why he was the Major Series Lacrosse Most Valuable Player scoring six goals, and Randy Staats made his presence felt scoring in overtime to give the Six Nations Chiefs a 13-12 win over the Peterborough Lakers.
The Chiefs win evens the best-of-seven MSL final 1-1.
The two rivals went blow for blow in the first period. Jamieson scored three goals, while Brendan Bomberry, and Vaughn Harris scored for the Chiefs. Thomas Hoggarth scored twice for the Lakers, while Cory Vitarelli, Holden Cattoni, and Mark Matthews netted one each.
The Lakers dominated the second period thanks to three more goals from Hoggarth, and singles from Cattoni, and Mitch Ogilvie. Austin Staats and Jamieson responded for the Chiefs.
In the third period, it was the Chiefs turn to go on a run to force extra time. Jamieson struck two more time, while Harris, Austin Staats and Randy Staats tied things up.Kiiel Matisz and Joe Resetarits scored for the Lakers.

NOTES:
Jamieson ended up with six goals and five assists. Doug Jamieson got the win after replacing starter Warren Hill. Matt Vinc was in goal for the Lakers making 46 saves. Game 3 of the series is Sunday at 7pm at the ILA.
