Chiefs shut down Kodiaks

The Six Nations Chiefs continued to roll in Major Series Lacrosse action Tuesday night, by shutting down the Cobourg Kodiaks 8-4 at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.
A balanced attack, along with a very physical defensive push led the Chiefs to the win.
Joey Cupido opened the scoring in transition for the Chiefs, with Vaughn Harris adding to the first-period lead late in the frame.
The Chiefs began to pull away when Sam Leclair, Marshall Powless, Brendan Bomberry, and Eric Fannell al scored goals.
The Kodiaks finally got one by Doug Jamieson, when Curtis Conley scored on a great individual effort.
Harris scored his second goal of the game midway through the third period, while Cupido also added his second marker of the night against his former team.
Alex Simmons, Chris Weier and Aaron Woods responded for the Kodiaks.

NOTES: Bomberry had a five-point night thanks to his four assists. Jamieson was solid between the Chiefs pipes making 52 stops. Steven Orleman was busy in the Kodiaks goal acing 56 shots and adding two assists. The Chiefs improve to a MSL best 6-1-1 and take on the Brooklin Lacrosse Club Saturday at 8pm on the road.
