Chiefs take silence Lakers on the road in Game 2

Led by Austin Staats's four goals and a hat trick from Ben McIntosh, the Six Nations Chiefs silenced the Peterborough Lakers 11-6 in front of 2,900 people Thursday night in Game 2 of the Major Series Lacrosse final.

The Chiefs now lead the best-of-seven series 2-0.

McIntosh, Liam Leclair, Larson Sundown, Tim Edwards, and Staats gave the Chiefs the start they were looking for in the first period. Eli McLaughlin and Taite Cattoni replied for the Lakers.

The Lakers began to push back in the second period despite Brendan Bomberry and Austin Staats increasing the Chiefs lead. Kiel Matisz and Taite Cattoni supplied the offence for the Lakers.

In the third period, Thomas Hoggarth and Jish Currier did their part to help cut the lead, before McIntosh and Staats each scored twice, giving the Chiefs the win.

Warren HIll was fantastic between the pipes for the Chiefs making 50 stops. 

Game 3 of the series is Monday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena at 8 p.m.
