Cobourg Nissan Kodiaks hire new Head Coach for 2020 season

John Webb - General Manager of the Cobourg Nissan Kodiaks in Major Series Lacrosse (MSL), announced that effectively immediately, Jamie Dubrick has been relieved of his duties as Head coach.  The new head coach is Jim Milligan. Webb complimented Dubrick stating "Jamie Dubrick has been coaching with the Kodiaks for 8 years dating back to the Kitchener/Waterloo days and has done an admirable job in keeping the franchise competitive through the transition to Cobourg. We are in a position now where we feel the club needs to take a step forward in MSL and that means taking a different approach behind the bench. Jamie has been very loyal and I thank him for coaching the Kodiak especially throughthe franchise move to Cobourg from KW".

In discussing the appointment of the Kodiaks' new Head coach Jim Milligan - GM Webb highlighted the vast experience Milligan has. "Jim brings 15 years of coaching experience in the National Lacrosse League and Major Series Lacrosse.  He has experience in developing talent and has shown that skill set wherever he has coached. Jim Milligan brings a resume of winning at every level".

Milligan has been behind the bench of several teams in the National Lacrosse League - most notably in Edmonton, Chicago, Toronto and most recently in Vancouver.  As an assistant coach in Major Series Lacrosse, he has won 5 Mann Cups with the Peterborough Lakers. Milligan is currently the offensive coach of the Whitby Steelhawks in the Arena Lacrosse League (ALL).

The Kodiaks' search for both an offensive and defensive coach will begin soon. GM Webb emphasized "We believe we have a group of players that can compete for a playoff spot so finding the right coaches to assist Jim will be our focus after the Entry draft on Monday".
