Connor Sellars - Most Valuable Defensive Player (Merv McKenzie Trophy)

Connor Sellers – Brampton

The MSL 2019 Most Valuable Defensive Player is Connor Sellars of the Brampton Excelsiors.  Standing 6’3” and weighing a solid 215 pounds, Sellars is well known for his effectiveness on winning loose ball battles and creating opposition team turn-overs.  He also contributed offensively scoring 4 goals and adding 8 assists in 17 games.  Despite his robust style, Sellars was penalized only four times all season collecting a total of 8 minutes in penalties.  The right-hand shot turns 26 years old this year and will be a defensive mainstay on the Brampton back-end for many seasons to come.  Along with the array of young speedy offensive talent the Excelsiors are developing, watch for Sellars and his team-mates begin to battle for MSL championships in the near future.  Connor Sellars is the type of outstanding defensive player that any team in the MSL would wish to have on their roster and is the 2019 Major Series Lacrosse Most Valuable Defensive Player.
