Darryl Gibson joins Cobourg Kodiaks coaching staff

The Cobourg Nissan Kodiaks announced the addition of Darryl Gibson as the team's new Offensive Assistant Coach.  Darryl Gibson is eager to join the Kodiaks, stating "I played defence throughout my career and that gave me great insight into what works. I  look forward to teaching the game to the next generation of pro players." During his days as a player, Gibson won five Mann Cups, two NLL Championships and one Founders Cup.

Gibson began coaching in 2003-2004 as Assistant Coach with the Toronto Beaches Junior "A" team.  He moved onto the Newmarket Redbirds organization serving as Head Coach and Team President for the period 2007-2012.  From 2014 to 2015 he was the Development Coach with the Minnesota Swarm of the NLL.  In 2016, Gibson was an Assistant Coach for the Durham Turfdogs who won the CLAX league Creators Cup championship.

Kodiaks' team owners Eric Graham and John Webb, believe Gibson is a good fit for the team, noting "With his extensive lacrosse background, having been a player for twelve years, and his coaching history, he has invaluable knowledge to impart on the team".
