Dobbie nets double OT winner

Dane Dobbie showed his flare for the dramatic.Debbie capped a four goal night by scoring the game-winner in sudden victory double overtime to give the Langley Thunder a 15-14 win over the Peterborough Lakers.
The Western Lacrosse League champions now lead the best-of-seven Mann Cup final 2-0.
The two teams punched and counter punched all night. Curtis Dickson scored two of his five goals on the night in the first period, while Dobbie and Connor Robinson added one each.
Taite Cattoni, Kiel Matisz, Shawn Evans and Holden catatonia replied for the Lakers.
The Lakers took a second period lead thanks to Cory Vitarelli and Austin Hasen, before Dobbie and Chaase Scanlan replied for the Thunder.
The two teams continued swinging the momentum in the third period. Dickson scored twice, Dylan Kinnear, Robert Church scored singles, before Dobbie tied it up in dramatic fashion with .01 seconds left in regulation.
Thomas Hoggarth scored twice for the Lakers, while Mark Matthews, Taite Cattoni, and Vitarelli scored one each.
In the first extra frame, the two teams had to play a full 10 minute period. And once again the two teams exchanged blows. Hoggarth added two more goals for the Major Series Lacrosse champs, including the game-tying goal with four seconds remaining. Matisz netted one.
Scanlan, Church, and Dickson replied for the Thunder.

NOTES: Dickson and Evans were named Players of the Game. Evans’ one goal and seven assists inches him closer to the all-time Mann Cup scoring lead. After MSL officials fact checked scoring from games 1 and 2, Evans notched  eight points in each game and  now sits nine points away from John Tavares' all-time Mann Cup points mark. Frank Scigliano made 68 stops to get the win. Matt Vinc made 46 stops. Game 3 of the Mann Cup final is Monday at 8pm.
