Evans leads Lakers to win over Chiefs

Turner Evans was the offensive catalyst while Landon Kells shut the door as the Peterborough Lakers edged the Six Nations Chiefs 9-8 Thursday during Major Series Lacrosse action.
Turner Evans opened the scoring for the Lakers on the power-play unassisted at 2:50. Sam LeClair tied the game off an Eric Fannell pass at 18:40, but another Turner Evans goal 0:34 seconds later gave the Lakers the lead. Bryan Cole tied the game on the power-play converting a Sam LeClair pass with just four seconds left in the period.
Holden Cattoni opened the second period scoring converting an Austin Hasen feed just 43 seconds in, but Sam LeClair and Ben McIntosh answered for the Chiefs giving them the lead at 5:22.
The Lakers finished the period with a five goal flourish. Turner Evans scored his third of the game unassisted at 8:56, followed by Carter Page scoring on the power-play also unassisted at 9:53. Jason Knox finished a Holden Cattoni feed at 11:35, followed by Page scoring his second one of the night of a Holden Cattoni pass at 12:01. Turner Evans scored his fourth of the game converting a Holden Cattoni feed at 18:22 for a Lakers four goal lead.
Jason Knox opened the third period scoring converting a Turner Evans pass just 0:41 seconds in, but the rest of the quarter belonged to the Chiefs. Shayne Jackson scored the two for the Chiefs. The first was off a Bryan Cole feed, and the second came off a Kevin Hill pass at 3:49. Mason Kamminga got in on the scoring, converting a Bryan Cole feed at 4:48 om the power-play, followed by Shayne Jackson with his fourth of the night .
