Excelsiors hold off Kodiaks

Steven Portelli's goal midway through the third period became the game-winner as teh Brampton Excelsiors held off the Cobourg Kodiaks 10-9 Thursday during Major Series Lacrosse action.

After Portelli goal, the Kodiaks came roaring back, with five unanswered - two from Aaron Woods and Tanner Buck, with Curtis Romancych adding a single - to make it a one-goal game.

Woods also scored to kick off the third period, while Jeremy Searle and Tyler Ferreira scored for the Excelsiors.

In the first period, James Whiteford, Chris Willman and Tanner Thomson gave the Excelsiors the lead. Emerson Clark responded for the Kodiaks.

The Excelsiors continued to gain momentum in the second period thanks to Seth Vanschepen, Thomson, Connor McClelland and Robert Hudson. Buck and Marshall Powless scored for the Kodiaks.
