Hellyer and Hasen net hat tricks to lead Lakers over North Stars

Rob Hellyer made his presence felt Saturday, scoring three goals and four assists to pace the Peterborough Lakers to a 15-8 win over the Owen Sound North Stars.

Turner Evans was the catalyst for the visiting Lakers in the first period scoring two goals, while Holden Cattoni added one. Jackson Reid, Tyler Brown, and Greg Elijah-Brown scored three-straight for the North Stars midway through the frame to take a lead, before the Lakers took it back with six seconds to go in the frame.

Hellyer took over in the second period, scoring a hat trick to lead the Lakers. Taite Cattoni pitched in with a pair, while Austin Hasen, Dylan Hutchison, and Thomas Hoggarth added to the lead.

Austin Blumbergs, Mitch Gustavsen, Jake Cates, Brendan Campbell, and Tyler Brown replied for the North Stars.

In the third period, the Lakers dominated, with Austin Hasen scoring his second and third on the night, while Hoggarth and Mitch Ogolvie added singles.
