Herreweyers hat trick leads Kodiaks to second-straight win over Rock

Zach Herreweyers had the hat trick and added one assist to lead the Cobourg Kodiaks to a 7-5 win over the Oakville Rock Monday in Major Series Lacrosse action.

Sam English started the scoring for the Rock, before Herreweyers netted his first goal of the game. The Rock bounced back a minute later, with Ryan Lanchbury giving the home team a lead after 20 minutes.

But the Kodiaks took over in the second period, with Herreweyers scoring a pair of goals, while David Anderson and Nathan Grenon added one.

Braedon Saris added to the lead early in the third period, before Dalton Sulver responded. After Aaron Woods extended the lead for the Kodiaks, Tyler Hendrycks and Lanchbury did what they could to inch the Rock closer to their rivals.

Steve Orleman made 55 stops to earn the win, while Nick Rose made 46 saves for the Rock.
