Riley Hutchcraft was sharp between the pipes and the Brooklin Lacrosse Club defence did their part to shut down the Brampton Excelsiors 6-3 on Wednesday during Major Series Lacrosse action.

Sean Westley converted a Josh Toguri feed at 17:15 for the only goal of the first period, giving BLC the lead.

The Excelsiors opened the second period scoring when Henry Follows was able to beat Hutchcraft off a James Whiteford pass at 2:32.

BLC regained the lead with Tristan Hannah converting a Connor Kearnan pass at 15:24, followed by Brady Kearnan scoring on the power-play off a Kyle Waters feed at 16:27. BLC then got in some penalty trouble near the end of the period with three penalties called on the same play. They had to sit two players, and a penalty shot was awarded as well.

Josh Medeiros took the penalty shot but was stopped by Riley Hutchcraft. The Excelsiors were unable to take advantage of the penalties, with BLC doing a great job on the defensively.

Robert Hudson opened the third period scoring for Brampton blasting a Henry Follows feed at 2:33, but Connor Kearnan answered back off a Tristan Hannah pass at 4:47. Carter Zavitz brought the game within one again converting a James Whiteford pass just 0:25 seconds later, followed by Kyle Waters scoring off a Connor Kearnan feed at 13:02.  Ryan Keenan picked the far corner on the power-play off a Brady Kearnan pass at 18:37.
