Kearnan and Knight lead Brooklin to another win

Connor Kearnan and Curtis Knight made their veteran presence felt, scoring five times each to lead the Brooklin Lacrosse Club to a 13-11 victory over the Coburg Kodiaks Tuesday at the at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre.

After the Kodiaks took a 2-1 lead after the first quarter, BLC caught fire, scoring seven goals in the second quarter to build a three goal lead at the half. Despite a four-goal surge in the fourth quarter by the Kodiaks, Brooklin was able to fend them off to preserve its undefeated streak at the MSL Classic.

Ryan MacSpadyen, Mitch Wilde, and Austin Murphy also added goals in the BLC victory.

Though Ben Drake and Scott Dominey led the Kodiaks on offence, it was a night of firsts for three of their younger players. Tye Kurtz, Travis Longboat and Marcus Minnichiello each scored their first Major Series Lacrosse goals.

Drake led the charge with four goals, while Dominey added a hat trick. Cam Milligan scored the other Kodiaks goal.
