Kodiaks strike back with win over Excelsiors
The Cobourg Kodiaks exacted a little revenge from Thursday night, handing the Brampton Excelsiors 9-5 Sunday during Major Series Lacrosse action.
The Excelsiors got off to a fast start with Pent Eistrat scoring on the powerplay off a James Whiteford pass at 5:11, followed by Whiteford himself scoring on the power-play as well, finishing off a Pent Eistrat feed at 8:21. Henry Follows continued the Brampton scoring, fininshing a Pent Eistrat pass at 10:46, followed by Eistrat himself scoring off a James Whiteford feed at 14:12.
Carson Moyer got the Kodiaks on the board when he converted Tyler Hendryks feed at 15:00.
David Anderson opened the second period scoring for the Kodiaks on the powerplay converting a Tyler Hendryks feed at 6:24, followed by Aaron Woods converting a Marshall Powless pass at 8:26. Tanner Buck tied the game off a Cam Simpson pass at 11:10, followed by Curtis Romancych in transition giving Cobourg their first lead of the night at 11:18.
James Whiteford tied the game for Brampton when he finished off a Matt Perreira pass at 12:14.
Aaron Woods opened the third period scoring for the Kodiaks converting a Tyler Hendryks pass at just 0:20 seconds, followed by George Downey at 7:52 to open a two goal lead. Emerson Clark added to the Kodiaks lead converting a Curtis Romancych in transition at 13:33. David Anderson scored his second of the night for the Kodiaks shorthanded at 16:18.
