Peterborough Lakers lead Brooklin Redmen 3-1
Six Nations Chiefs and Oakville Rock tied 2-2
The Peterborough Lakers lead the Brooklin Redmen three games to one in their MSL Semi-Final Playoff series. The Lakers opened up a 3-0 series lead based upon wins of 13-8, 12-8 and 7-5. Brooklin staved off elimination with an 11-10 overtime win in Game 4.
Offensively, the Lakers are being led by MSL playoff scoring leader Corey Small with 15 points including 7 goals. Holden Cattoni has 6 goals and 8 assists for 14 points; Shawn Evans 3 goals and 11 assists for 14 points and Kyle Buchanan has contributed 4 goals and 9 assists for 13 points.
Mark Matthews leads Brooklin with 5 goals and 10 assists. Other major contributors for the Redmen include Dan Lintner with 5 goals and 5 assists; Ryan Keenan with 4 goals and 6 assists; and Shayne Jackson with 1 goal and 9 assists.
Goaltenders Matt Vinc for the Lakers and Mike Poulin have equal save percentage numbers of .825. Vinc has 2 wins and one loss in the series, whereas Poulin is 1 win and 2 losses.
The other MSL Semi-Final series sees the Six Nations Chiefs and Oakville Rock tied at two games each. Somewhat peculiarly, after four games, neither team has won a game at home. The Chiefs won 8-5 in the series opener in Oakville. The Rock won 7-6 in Six Nations. The Chiefs won a second time in Oakville 9-7. The Rock tied the series with an 8-7 victory in the fourth game.
The Chiefs are being led on the scoreboard by Randy Staats with 7 goals and 5 assists. Kyle Jackson has contributed 4 goals and 3 assists.
For Oakville, Johnny Powless has 8 goals and 5 assists. While Jeremy Noble has scored 6 times and added 7 assists.
