JEFF TEAT - MSL Top Scorer - Regular Season

Jeff Teat, Brampton Excelsiors

Rookie Jeff Teat led the league in overall scoring for the 2019 season winning the Bucko MacDonald Trophy.  Teat scored 36 goals and added 44 assists for a total of 80 points.  The next closest scorer – Kyle Buchanan – was 11 points behind Teat.

Most observers expected Jeff Teat to become an impact player in the MSL.  But to lead the league in scoring in his rookie season surprised many.

Teat registered at least 1 point every game he played including his first game in the MSL.  He became comfortable shortly thereafter following up with games collecting points of 6, 6, 2, 4, 5, 5, 1, 3, 1, 8, 5, 11, 4, 4, 6, 7 and 1 point.  In terms of scoring goals -  Jeff Teat had one 6 goal game; one 5 goal game; one 4 goal game; four 3 goal games; one 2 goal game; seven 1 goal games; and three games where he did not score a goal.

The efforts of Jeff Teat and his team-mates secured the Excelsiors fourth place and a playoff spot as they ended the regular season with a record of 9 wins and 9 losses.  This was a significant improvement from the fifth non-playoff position of 5-9-2 in 2018.  Certainly, Jeff Teat has a very bright future ahead of himself which will benefit the Brampton Excelsiors along with providing plenty of excitement and thrills for fans of Major Series lacrosse.
