OAKVILLE ROCK ADVANCE TO FINALS WITH 9-7 OVERTIME VICTORY

Led by Brad Gillies' two goals including the eventual game winning goal in overtime, the Oakville Rock eliminated the Six Nations Chiefs winning the best of seven series four games to two.  The Rock led 5-2 at the end of the first period.  However, the Chiefs rallied to tie the game 6-6 at the end of the second period.  The teams traded one goal each in the third period with the score in regulation time ending 7-7.  Onto overtime where the Rock outscored Six Nations 2-0 sealing a series ending 9-7 victory.

Dan Craig and Brad Gillies each scored twice for the Rock.  Single goals came off the sticks of Wesley Berg, Challen Rogers, Jeremy Noble, Andrew Kew and Luc Magnan.  Randy Staats had a four goal game for Six Nations.  Single tallies came from Frank Brown, Cody Jamieson and Tyson Bell.

Oakville goaltender Nick Rose stopped 48 of 55 shots.  Doug Jamieson made 54 saves on 63 shots.

Oakville awaits the winner of the Brooklin Redmen / Peterborough Lakers series which will be decided in a seventh game to be played on Thursday in Peterborough.
