Resetarits' four-goal performance propels Lakers to 12-6 victory over Excelsiors

Joe Resetarits led the way with four goals, as the Peterborough Lakers came away with a 12-6 win over the Brampton Excelsiors Thursday in Major Series Lacrosse action. The match, held at the Peterborough Memorial Centre, was an offensive showcase, with both teams displaying their scoring prowess throughout the game.

The game started with JP Ward scoring the opening goal for the Excelsiors. The Lakers quickly responded thanks to Taite Cattoni and Dylan Hutchison. James Whiteford and Ward.then scored to give the Excelsiors another lead. However, Resetarits scored for the Lakers late in the frame to make it 3-3.

Resetarits continued his stellar performance in the second period, scoring just one second into the period. Holden Cattoni extended the Lakers lead with a goal two minutes later. Resetarits then added a short-handed goal, before Austin Hasen scored the eventual game-winning goal. Holden Cattoni and Taylor Jensen capped the six-goal second period for the Lakers.

Brampton tried to mount a comeback in the third period, starting with a power-play goal from Pent Eistrat, before Holden Patterson added another for the home squad. But Resetarits had the hot stick answering back minutes later.

Mitch Ogilvie and Rob Hellyer added to the Lakers lead, while Whiteford scored one more for the Excelsiors.
