Lyle Thompson and Eli McLaughlin scored hat tricks, while Austin Staats, Travis Longboat and Dhane Smith each netted a pair in a 14-7 win over the Peterborough Lakers Thursday at the PMC.

Austin Staats opened the scoring with a pair of goals 30 seconds apart, before Holden Cattoni and Joe Resetarits responded. But the Chiefs went on another run to close the frame, thanks to Longboat and a pair from Smith.

Cody Jamieson and McLaughlin kept the Chiefs train rolling, before Thomas Hoggarth stopped the run. McLaughlin responded, but again, Hoggarth gave the home crowd plenty to cheer about with another goal. But the Chiefs again ended the period on a run, this time with goals from Lyle Thompson and McLaughlin.

Longboat, Thompson, and Justin Martin scored to open the third period, before Resetarits scored twice with Hoggarth adding his third of the game. Thompson bookended the scoring midway though the third period.

Doug Jamieson got the win with a 46 stop performance, while Landon Kells and Drew Hutchison shared the goaltending duties for the Lakers.
