Third period charge leads Lakers over Excelsiors

A third period run led by Holden Cattoni lifted the Peterborough Lakers to a tight 9-7 win over the Brampton Excelsiors Thursday night at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
Cattoni struck twice in a row, while Josh Currier and Mike Robinson added singles during a four-goal run in the heart of the third period. Curtis Goddard and James Whiteford bookmarked the frame for the Excelsiors.
The First period belonged to the Lakers, with Robinson scoring twice and Currier adding one to open the game.
The Excelsiors came out in the second period and dominated, with five different goal scorers. Rory Graham, Josh Mederios, Robert Hudson, Goddard and Steven Portelli all scored goals. Austin HAsen and Turner Evans responded.
Drew Hutchinson got the win between the pipes making 49 saves. Luca Nagy made 57 stops in a losing effort.
