Thompson leads charge with four goals as Chiefs beat Lakers

It was Lyle Thompson's turn to shine for the Six Nations Chiefs Tuesday night.

Thompson scored four times and added one helper to lead the Chiefs to a 12-7 win over the Peterborough Lakers at home.

the two teams exchanged goals in the early going with Thompson and Ross Hill scoring for the Chiefs, while Koleton Marquis and Joe Resetarits replied for the Lakers. but the Chiefs found another gear in the back half of the period. Larson Sundown, Cody Jamieson and Eli McLaughlin all scored goals, while Thompson bookended the frame with two more.

Austin Staats, Shayne Jackson, and Thompson opened things up for the Chiefs, before Carter Page stopped the bleeding. Staats scored his second of the period. But the Lakers got a hold of the momentum with goals from Marquis and Resetarits to close out the second period.

Marquis and Resetarits scored again for the Lakers in the third period, while Sundown replied for the Chiefs.

Warren Hill was again solid between the Chiefs pipes to get the win.
