Ty Thompson picked a great time to score his third goal of the game on Thursday night.

In the final game of the MSL Classic at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre, Thompson netted his third goal of the game with 34 seconds remaining to give the Brooklin Lacrosse Club a 12-11 victory over the Oakville Rock.

Thompson scored his first two goals in the first quarter, to pace BLC to a 3-0l lead. Ryan Keenan scored the other BLC goal, while Tanner Buck netted a pair for the Rock.

Jake Fox, Chris Boushy, Adam Perroni and Kyle Waters added to the lead in the second quarter. Will Sheehan led the Roc attack with two goals, while Tye Argent added on.

The two teams went on two goal runs in the third quarter, with Boushy and Waters putting the ball in the net for BLC. Devin Dunkerley and Buck responded for the Rock.

Austin Murphy and Keenan extended the BLC lead early in the fourth quarter, before the Rock clawed its way back tying things up thanks to a pair from Sheehan and another from Buck, setting up Tompson’s heroics.

The win solidified top sport at the MSL Classic for BLC, who earned a 7-1 record, while the Rock finished in fifth spot at 2-6.

Commissioner Doug Luey and the Board of Governors want to thank all of the volunteers, media, the JVI Sports Network crew, players, coaches, staff and fans for making the MSL Classic a resounding success.
