Thunder roll into Game 1 win over Lakers
Curtis Dickson and Dane Dobbie had eight points each and Frank Scigliano shut the door to lead the Langley Thunder to a 16-11 win over the Peterborough Lakers Friday night in Game 1 of the Mann Cup final.
The Thunder struck six times in the first period and seven more times in the second to pull away for the victory.
Curtis Dickson Dylan Kinnear and Connor Robinson each scored twice to pace the Western Lacrosse Association champs in the first period.
Austin Hasen scored two of his own, while Mark Matthews also scored in the first.
Kinnear and Dobbie each scored three goals in the second period, with Robert Church adding one.
Turner Evans, Kiel Matisz, Matthews, Holden Cattoni and Shawn Evans replied for the Lakers.
Dickson added two more in the third period and Dobbie added one.
Holden Cattoni and Matthews replied for the Major Series Lacrosse champions.
