Turner Evans leads Lakers by BLC

Turner Evans scored three goals and three assists to lead the Peterborough Lakers to a 14-9 win over the Brooklin Lacrosse Club in Major Series Lacrosse action Wednesday.

The Lakers got on the board first when Owen Hiltz converted a Holden Cattoni feed at just 0:20 seconds, but just seconds late Adam Perronitoed the game on a feed from Parker Pipher. Turner Evans gave Peterborough the lead once again off a Josh Currier pass at 3:26, but was promptly answered by Kyle Waters, converting a Darren Elliott pass 0:27 seconds later.

The Lakers then pulled in front when Josh Currier finished off a Jordan Stouros feed at 6:37, followed by Matt Gilray scoring on transition off a Josh Currier feed at 7:02 for the 4-2 Lakers lead. 

Kyle Waters scored his second of the night on the power-play off a Luke Pilcher pass at 10:58 to bring BLC within one, but Turner Evans scored his second of the game off a Josh Currier pass at 11:57.   Waters scored twice more for BLC to finish the period.  The first goal was off a Zac Carrigan feed at 16:16, followed by finishing off a Tyler Goodchild pass at 18:57.

BLC took the lead when Ben MacDonnell converted a Tyler Goodchild pass at 4:51, but was answered by Turner Evans’ third of the evenning off a Matt Gilray feed in transition at 5:41. 

The Lakers then exploded for three goals. Taite Cattoni blasted a shot past Hutchcraft off a Joel Taylor pass at 10:42, followed by Austin Hasen converting a Turner Evans feed at 12:16.  Adam Thistlewaite then finished a Matt Gilray pass in transition just 0:09 seconds later.  Luke Pilcher stopped the Peterborough run on the power-play finishing off a Parker Pipher feed at 15:16.

There was no scoring for almost half of the period until Thomas Hoggarth scored from in close off a Josh Currier feed at 9:12.  BLC answered on the power-play when Tyler Goodchild converted a Kyle Waters pass at 11:28, but Taite Cattoni added his second of the night off an Owen Hiltz pass at 13:53.  Joel Taylor scored his first of the night off a Matt Wright pass at 14:42, followed by Thomas Hoggarth scoring his second of the period off a Josh Currier pass at 15:18. 

Daniel Mays got one more for BLC off a Darren Elliott pass at 17:06, buy it wasn’t enough to derail the Lakers.
