Carson Moyer’s lacrosse foundation was established in one of the most respected development systems in the country.
Growing up through the Orangeville Northmen organization meant learning the game in a community where lacrosse carries enormous importance. Orangeville has produced generations of outstanding players, and the expectations within the Northmen program extend far beyond individual statistics.
Players are taught to compete.
To understand the game.
To contribute within a team structure.
And to perform when the pressure is at its highest.
That environment helped shape Moyer into an intelligent and dependable offensive player capable of creating his own opportunities while complementing the talent around him.
The Hill Academy
Moyer continued his development at The Hill Academy, one of Canada’s leading lacrosse programs.
The Hill provided him with the opportunity to train at an elite level while competing against some of the strongest prep programs in North America. He was surrounded by talented players and coaches who understood what was required to succeed at the NCAA level.
During his senior year, Moyer helped The Hill complete an undefeated spring trip—highlighted by an overtime victory against perennial powerhouse Calvert Hall.
The experience helped prepare him for the next stage of his career: NCAA Division I lacrosse at the University of Utah.
Helping Build Something at Utah
Moyer joined a young Utah program that was still establishing itself on the Division I landscape.
He wasn’t stepping into a program with decades of history already behind it. He was joining one that was creating its identity—and he wanted to be part of that process.
Over his collegiate career, Moyer became a consistent and valuable part of the Utes’ midfield.
He appeared in 60 games, made 47 starts and completed his Utah career with 85 points on 60 goals and 25 assists. His 60 goals placed him sixth in program history when his collegiate career concluded.
His strongest goal-scoring season came in 2023 when he recorded 24 goals and seven assists.
Moyer delivered one of his biggest performances in the ASUN championship game, scoring a career-high four goals as Utah defeated Air Force to claim the conference title.
As a senior in 2024, he demonstrated a more balanced offensive game, collecting 16 goals and a career-high 15 assists. He helped Utah capture another ASUN championship and earn its second consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament.
Moyer’s collegiate career showed that he could do more than finish plays.
He could find space.
Move the ball.
Create opportunities.
And deliver in important games.
Returning to the Box
While developing his field game at Utah, Moyer continued to build his box lacrosse résumé in Ontario.
He spent his final Junior A season with the Mimico Mountaineers in 2022 and produced an exceptional 98 points, scoring 51 goals and adding 47 assists.
That production demonstrated exactly what Moyer could provide offensively.
He could score from the outside.
Finish around the crease.
Recognize openings in a defence.
And create offence for the players around him.
Moyer made the jump to Major Series Lacrosse with the Cobourg Kodiaks in 2023, recording 18 goals and 17 assists for 35 points in 18 games during his first Senior A season.
The adjustment from junior to Senior A lacrosse can be difficult. The defenders are stronger, the goaltenders are more experienced and available space disappears quickly.
Moyer showed that his offensive instincts could translate to that level.
Entering the Professional Game
The Albany FireWolves selected Moyer with the 32nd overall pick in the 2023 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft.
After initially signing with the Colorado Mammoth, he received his first NLL opportunity with Albany during the 2024–25 season. Moyer made an immediate impression, scoring his first professional goal against Colorado on January 18, 2025.
He finished his first NLL season with two goals and four assists in four appearances.
Moyer later followed the franchise to Oshawa and signed a two-year contract with the Oshawa FireWolves in January 2026. Before returning to the active roster, he had dominated with the Arena Lacrosse League’s Paris RiverWolves, producing 19 goals and 16 assists through only four games.
Those numbers made it impossible to ignore what he could provide.
Offence.
Energy.
And another dangerous left-handed option.
Making an Impact with Oakville
With the Oakville Rock, Moyer has continued to establish himself at the Senior A level.
Oakville possesses several talented offensive players, meaning touches and scoring opportunities must be earned. Moyer has shown that he does not need the offence to run exclusively through his stick to make an impact.
He understands how to play alongside other skilled players.
He finds quiet areas of the floor.
He moves the ball when the opportunity isn’t there.
And when a defence loses track of him, he can finish.
That was evident when Moyer scored four times in Oakville’s 13–5 victory over Brampton during the 2026 season.
Performances like that build confidence, but they also build trust.
When coaches know a player will capitalize on his opportunities, those opportunities begin to increase.
Still Climbing
Moyer’s story is particularly interesting because it is still being written.
He has already developed through the Orangeville Northmen organization, attended The Hill Academy, helped Utah become a championship-level Division I program and earned opportunities in both Major Series Lacrosse and the National Lacrosse League.
But he is still entering the prime years of his career.
Each level has required another adjustment.
Each opportunity has demanded something more.
And Moyer has continued to produce.

Carson Moyer is exactly the type of player I wanted people to discover through the Stars of MSL series.
His journey began in the Orangeville system, continued through The Hill Academy and took him to the University of Utah, where he helped a young Division I program grow into a conference champion and NCAA tournament participant.
What stands out to me is his ability to adapt.
Carson has played field and box lacrosse at increasingly demanding levels. He has been asked to play different roles, compete alongside talented offensive players and earn every opportunity he has received.
He doesn’t need to dominate possession to affect a game.
He understands where to find space, when to move the ball and how to capitalize when an opportunity arrives. His four-goal performance against Brampton was a perfect example of what can happen when a defence gives him room.
Carson has already accomplished plenty, but this still feels like the beginning of his story.
We aren’t looking back at what he once was.
We’re watching what he is becoming.
And right now, Carson Moyer is giving lacrosse fans plenty of reasons to keep watching.
That’s why he belongs among the Stars of MSL.
