Every team has a player whose value can't be measured by statistics alone. For me, Mike Triolo is one of those players.
When I watch him, what stands out isn't necessarily the spectacular play—it's the dependable one. He's willing to battle in the corners, absorb contact in front of the net, and take on whatever role his coach asks of him. Those are the players championship teams are built around.
I also admire the way he's adapted throughout his career. As the game has evolved, so has Mike Triolo. He's become a more complete player without ever losing the physical edge that defines his style.
