Another Big Second Period Propels Chiefs to Second Mann Cup Victory

The Coquitlam Adanacs faced the Six Nations Chiefs in game two of the 2026 Mann Cup at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Hagersville, Ontario Saturday night.  Coquitlam was looking to even the series after dropping game one 8-2 Friday evening. 

The goaltending match-up had Christian Del Bianco in net for the Adanacs facing Warren Hill in net for the Chiefs. 


The Coquitlam Adanacs built a 2–0 first-period lead, but the Six Nations Chiefs responded with an eight-goal explosion in the second. Ryan Smith and Josh Byrne quickly erased the deficit before Dhane Smith and Ryan Smith gave Six Nations its first lead. Coquitlam battled back to tie the game at five, but late goals from Dhane Smith, Shayne Jackson and Tyson Bell sent the Chiefs into the second intermission with an 8–5 advantage.

Remo Schenato brought the Adanacs within two midway through the third, but Six Nations shut the door from there. Dawson Theede restored the three-goal cushion on the power play before Dhane Smith sealed the 10–6 victory. The Chiefs now lead the best-of-seven Mann Cup series 2–0, with Game 3 set for Monday at 8 p.m. at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.

To The Game:

Coquitlam opened the scoring on a delayed penalty at 5:39. Connor Robinson found Sean Kriwokon behind the net, and Kriwokon dove around the crease to tuck the ball past the Six Nations goaltender.

The Adanacs doubled their lead at 17:05 on a nearly identical play. Robinson once again delivered the pass behind the net, this time finding Kean Moon, who launched himself around the crease and buried the finish.

Second Period:

Ryan Smith finally got the Chiefs on the board at 1:25, finishing from in front after a pinpoint feed from Dhane Smith. Just over a minute later, Josh Byrne struck shorthanded, converting a Chris Cloutier pass with a slick shovel shot at 2:30 to tie the game.

The Chiefs grabbed their first lead at 4:12 when Dhane Smith fired a high-to-low laser past the Coquitlam netminder off a Ryan Smith feed. The pair connected again at 7:37, this time with Ryan Smith burying a skip shot into the top corner to put Six Nations ahead 4–2.

Peyton Cormier stopped the four-goal run by finding the back of the net for Coquitlam at 8:46. However, the Chiefs answered just 30 seconds later when Shayne Jackson blasted home a Chris Cloutier feed to restore the two-goal advantage.

The Adanacs rallied once again. Kean Moon pulled Coquitlam within one on the power play at 14:40, firing a low-to-low laser off a Jalen Chaster pass. Just seven seconds later, Remo Schenato scored directly off the ensuing faceoff to tie the game at five.

Dhane Smith put the Chiefs back in front at 16:07, finishing from in close off a Ryan Smith feed. Shayne Jackson then struck from the top of the crease at 18:21 after taking a pass from Dawson Theede.

Tyson Bell capped the period at 19:20, racing coast to coast burying a Brad Kri pass to give Six Nations a three-goal advantage.

After two periods, Six Nations 8 Coquitlam 5.

Third Period:

Coquitlam finally broke the third-period scoring drought at 13:37 when Remo Schenato went coast to coast and finished the spectacular individual effort unassisted.

Dawson Theede answered for Six Nations at 15:20, converting a Dhane Smith feed on the power play to restore the Chiefs’ three-goal advantage.

The Chiefs put the game on ice at 17:10 when Dhane Smith buried a Chris Cloutier pass to seal the victory.

Final score, Six Nations 10, Coquitlam 6.
