The Owen Sound NorthStars (0-6) traveled east to face the Brooklin Lacrosse Club (5-3) in Major Series Lacrosse action Wednesday night at the Iroquois Park Sports Centre in Whitby, Ontario.

The goaltending match-up had Kaleb Martin in net for the NorthStars facing Steve Orleman in net for Brooklin.

The Brooklin Lacrosse Club (BLC) built an early lead and received a dominant offensive performance from Connor Kearnan to hold off a determined Owen Sound NorthStars comeback Wednesday night in Whitby. Brooklin struck first with goals from MacCoy Abrams and Chase Scanlon before Jackson Webster cut the lead in half. Dyson Williams restored a two-goal cushion late in the opening frame, giving the BLC a 3-1 advantage after one period. Owen Sound again cut the deficit to one early in the second, but Brooklin responded emphatically with four goals in a span of just over six minutes, including a pair from Kearnan and a power-play marker from Will MacLeod. Despite Jeremy Searle's tally for the NorthStars, Kearnan completed his hat trick before the intermission as Brooklin carried a 7-3 lead into the third period.

Owen Sound refused to go away, mounting an impressive comeback effort fueled by special teams and transition play. Greg Elijah-Brown, Graydon Stokes, Xander Derkatz, Riley Ford, and Jackson Webster all found the back of the net in the final frame, with three of the goals coming while shorthanded, trimming the deficit to a single goal late in regulation.  Each time the NorthStars threatened, however, Brooklin answered. Dyson Williams scored twice in the third period and finished with a hat trick, while Taggart Clark added a key insurance marker before Williams sealed the victory with a late outside blast. Kearnan's four-goal performance and Brooklin's timely responses proved to be the difference as the BLC survived a furious Owen Sound rally to earn an entertaining 11-9 victory.
