Cloutier's Hat Trick Powers Undefeated Chiefs Past Rock

The Six Nations Chiefs (15-0) traveled to face the Oakville Rock (11-6) in Major Series Lacrosse action Monday night at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario. 

The goaltending match-up had Warren Hill in net for the Chiefs facing Evan Constantopolous in net for the Rock.

The Six Nations Chiefs continued their perfect season Monday night, improving to 15-0 with a commanding 10-4 victory over the Oakville Rock at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre. Chris Cloutier led the offensive charge with a hat trick, while Lyle Thompson scored twice and Andrew Kew orchestrated the attack with five assists and a goal. Tyson Bell and David Anderson also found the back of the net as the Chiefs controlled the pace from the opening faceoff, outshooting Oakville 55-36. Warren Hill turned aside 32 shots to earn the victory between the pipes.

Oakville stayed within striking distance after the opening period thanks to goals from Isiah Moran-Weekes and Carson Moyer, trailing just 3-2 after 20 minutes. However, Six Nations seized complete control in the second period, rattling off four goals to build a commanding 7-3 advantage before adding three more in the third. Justin Lee and Tye Steenhuis scored for the Rock, but the Chiefs' relentless transition game and balanced offensive attack proved too much to overcome as Six Nations remained unbeaten.

To The Game:

The Chiefs opened the scoring with Tyson Bell going coast to coast off a loose ball unassisted at 4:20, followed by Chris Cloutier with a great individual effort off a Latrell Harris pass at 5:21.

The Rock got on the board when Isiah Moran-Weekes went hard to the net finishing an Eric McDonald pass at 6:33, but David Anderson replied scoring on a high to low shot from in close off a Chris Cloutier feed at 17:34.

Carson Moyer gave the Rock momentum heading to the break scoring on a breakaway off a Lucas Hucal pass in transition at 19:16.

After one period, Six Nations 3 Oakville 2.
Shots on goal favored the Chiefs 19-10.

Second Period:

Six Nations opened the second period on a mission.  Shayne Jackson opened the scoring with a blast off an Andrew Kew pass at 1:34, followed by Kew himself from in front banking it off the crossbar from a Ryan Smith feed at 2:05.

Justin Lee kept the Rock in the game with a shot that hit the backboards and bounced in off of Warren Hill at 4:28, but Lyle Thompson answered back with an outside laser off an Andrew Kew pass at 9:56.

Chris Cloutier then added his second of the night from the side of the net with a bounced shot off a Lyle Thompson feed at 17:48.

After two periods, Six Nations 7 Oakville 3.
Shots on goal favored the Chiefs 21-13.

Third Period:

Chris Cloutier opened the third period with his third of the night on a delayed penalty.  Cloutier fired a low bounced shot from distance off an Andrew Kew feed at 4:51.

Tye Steenhuis got one back for Oakville with a high to low shot from the top of the crease off a Sam LeClair pass at 14:03, but Ryan Smith answered from in front off a David Anderson pass 24 seconds later.  Lyle Thompson then scored his second of the game with an outside blast off a Shayne Jackson pass at 17:37.

Final score, Six Nations 10 Oakville 4.
Shots on goal favored the Chiefs 15-13, for a game total of 55-36 in favor of Six Nations.
