The Peterborough Lakers (3-3) traveled west to face the Brooklin Lacrosse Club (4-3) in Major Series Lacrosse action Wednesday night at the Iroquois Park Sports Centre in Whitby, Ontario.

The goaltending match-up had Drew Hutchison in net for the Lakers facing Steve Orleman in net for Brooklin.

Peterborough seized control almost immediately, never looking back in an 8-4 road victory over Brooklin (BLC). The Lakers jumped out quickly to a 2-0 lead on goals from Rob Hellyer and Mike Robinson just 37 seconds apart to open the game, then added two more in the first period from Colton Armitage and Hellyer again for a commanding 4-0 lead. Brooklin showed some pushback through goals from Landon Sinfield and Chris Boushy, but the Lakers carried a 4-2 advantage into the first intermission.

The second period tightened up defensively, with both goaltenders making key saves before Robinson restored Peterborough's three-goal cushion late in the frame. Brooklin answered through Will MacLeod to stay within striking distance at 5-3, but the Lakers quickly shut the door in the third.  Brad McCulley and Hellyer scored 23 seconds apart early in the period, and after Sinfield cut the deficit back to three, Armitage responded immediately to halt any momentum swing.  Peterborough would come away with an 8-4 victory.

Brooklin finally found some momentum midway through the frame. Landon Sinfield blasted home a high-to-low shot off an Owen Tapper feed at 9:01, and Chris Boushy followed with an outside laser off a Ryan Barnable pass at 15:50 to cut the deficit in half.
