MacLeod, Williams And Scanlon Lead Brooklin to 14-4 Rout of Owen Sound

The Brooklin Lacrosse Club (9-8) traveled west to face the Owen Sound NorthStars (1-15) in Major Series Lacrosse action Saturday evening at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Arena in Owen Sound, Ontario.
The goaltending match-up had Steve Orleman in net for Brooklin facing Lucas Johnston in net for Owen Sound.
The Brooklin Lacrosse Club (BLC) erupted for 10 unanswered goals over the second and third periods to cruise to a convincing 14-4 victory over the Owen Sound NorthStars on Saturday night at Harry Lumley Bayshore Arena. After Owen Sound kept things close in the opening frame, trailing just 4-3, Brooklin completely took control behind an explosive offensive performance led by Will MacLeod and Dyson Williams. MacLeod finished with five goals and one assist, while Williams added four goals and three assists as the visitors improved to 10-8 on the season.
Brooklin dominated every facet of the game after the opening 20 minutes, outscoring the NorthStars 10-1 over the final two periods while holding Owen Sound to just one goal until the closing minutes. Chase Scanlon chipped in a hat trick, Lucas Littlejohn collected a goal and four assists, and Steve Orleman turned aside 33 shots before Adam Krueger finished the contest in relief. Callum Brennan scored twice for the NorthStars, while Bobby O'Grady added a goal and an assist in the loss.
To The Game:
The NorthStars got on the board with Bobby O'Grady finishing a Braydon Hickey pass from the outside at 2:49, but Will MacLeod replied with a blast off a Lucas Littlejohn pass 19 seconds later.
MacLeod then gave the BLC the lead dunking from behind the net off a Lucas Littlejohn pass at 8:35, followed by Lucas Littlejohn himself from the inside off a Dyson Williams pass at 12:52.
Will MacLeod then added his third of the period with a low laser off a Littlejohn feed at 13:48, but Callum Brennan was able to finish his brother Kaden's feed from the top of the crease at 15:12.
With an extra attacker on the floor, Callum Brennan added a buzzer beater to bring Owen Sound within one at 19:59
After one period, Brooklin 4 Owen Sound 3.
Shots on goal favored the BLC 20-16.
Second Period:
Brooklin came out on fire in the second period with Chase Scanlon scoring from the top of the crease off a Jack Oldman pass at 4:06, followed by Dyson Williams with an outside blast off a Lucas Littlejohn pass 26 seconds later.
Will MacLeod scored his fourth of the evening finishing a Dyson Williams pass at 10:17, followed by Chase Scanlon with back to back markers. The first hitting the corner on a turnover unassisted at 14:18, followed by a fake then shot to the far corner off a Will MacLeod pass 34 seconds later on the power-play.
Dyson Williams then continued the onslaught with back to back goals himself. The first was a howitzer from the outside at 17:57, followed by grabbing a rebound at the top of the crease at 19:07.
After two periods, Brooklin 11 Owen Sound 3.
Shots on goal favored the BLC 17-9.
Third Period:
Brooklin continued where they left off with a give and go between Will MacLeod and Landon Sinfield. MacLeod finished the pass running across the crease at 2:29. Dyson Williams added his fourth of the night from the side of the net off a Landon Sinfield pass at 15:12.
Brooklin replaced Steve Orleman with Adam Krueger in net.
Landon Sinfield added another goal for Brooklin with a blast off an Elijah Edwards pass at 17:09.
Aiden Saint got the NorthStars back on the board in transition off a Bobby O'Grady pass at 18:53.
Final score, Brooklin 14 Owen Sound 4.
Shots on goal favored the BLC 17-12, for a game total of 54-37 in favor of Brooklin.
